Savon De Marseille

This is the most natural and hypo-allegenic product that you can buy for sensitive, delicate and young skins. Made in a unique way by French soapmakers for centuries, Savon De Marseille is the only soap you can buy with a neutral pH. Like Castile Soap, this soap is made entirely from Olive Oil. However this soap is harder, longer lasting and even more gentle than its French cousin. It is often recommended by doctors and dermatologists for patients with skin conditions that cannot cope with the high pH of other natural soaps. It is suitable for use as a soap and a shampoo for young babies and many French use it for household applications such as laundry and cleaning. 
 
Unlike cold-process soaps which are cured for a period of 6-8 weeks or hot-process soaps which are cooked for 1-24 hours at a high heat, this soap is cooked in a large vat on a low heat for 8-10 days. Sometimes a green French clay is also added to give it a distinctive green hue. It is then cured for a long time to remove any excess moisture. 
 
Available in the traditional cubes, a regular sized white, green and lavender are for washing hands, body and face, as well as an extra large cube for grating into laundry products etc.
